New Aura Ai-X deployments
Security conscious organisations can’t get enough of Aura Ai-X with recent and scheduled deployments in Botswana, South Africa and northern Australia.
The FFT Team was on-the-ground in Botswana commissioning our intrusion detection technology at an open-pit diamond mine. Aura Ai-X is installed in both fence mounted and covert buried configuration to protect a 20km perimeter. Buried PIDs are commonly installed at sites with limited physical delineation or to provide an extra layer of security to prevent authorised access. Using buried fibre, Aura Ai-X can detect and pinpoint even the smallest disturbance to within ± 5m.
Meanwhile, across the border in South Africa, Aura Ai-X was installed along a Sibanye-Stillwater water pipe in partnership with Veracitech. Sibanye-Stillwater is one of the world’s largest primary producers of platinum, palladium, and rhodium and is a top tier gold producer. This pipeline is crucial in ensuring a reliable water supply, which is vital for supporting their world-class mineral extraction and processing.
Finally, an existing Detect customer is upgrading to the latest generation Aura Ai-X technology at a liquid natural gas facility on Northern Australia. Protecting a perimeter of approximately 9kms, the system will be configured to deliver cut resilience at this high security critical infrastructure facility. Aura Ai-X is scheduled to be installed and commissioned by the end of 2024.
Highlights from ISC Brazil
Our security experts recently set up shop at ISC Brazil to demonstrate our detect and illuminate technology to hundreds for visitors. ISC Brazil is the largest security show in South America, with the event also attracting attended from Paraguay, Argentina and Saudi Arabia.
Aura Ai-X live demonstrations piqued the interest of many, while representatives from Aeon – FFT’s largest renewable energy sector partner in Brazil – also spent significant time at the stand during the three-day event. As a result of the event, new opportunities have been identified in the oil and gas sector including a pipeline monitoring project in Brazil.
The ease of installation and integration capabilities of the Illuminate division’s LoRa solution was also on display – securing a new distribution partner in Argentina. Opportunities were also identified in the telecommunications and energy sectors.
The LoRa Connect
Did you know that the new LoRa Connect can connect sensors, illuminators, and alarms with a maximum range of up to 10km, all while supporting up to 500 devices wirelessly? Not a data cable in sight! Watch this video to see how LX Lora Connect is revolutionising site security.
Working with Illuminate distributors
Recent training sessions and strategic sponsorships across the UK have sparked fresh momentum, reengaging with our existing distributor network while opening doors to potential new partnerships. Collaboration with key distributors like COP, Fortus, Videcon, and BDM have led to high-level discussions with senior sales and marketing teams. This has resulted in multiple testing opportunities for our IM-8-P Illuminator, positioning it for preferred product status across the market. These initiatives are paving the way for enhanced visibility and growth for our Illuminate solutions.
YD30 Series on show in the US
Our Access division’s YD30 Series recently completed a tour across America, with dormakaba showcasing this innovative solution at key industry events: GSX in Florida, Glass Build America in Dallas, and DHI ConNextions in Las Vegas. At each stop, our Access team engaged with customers and prospects, sharing insights, and providing support on the unique benefits of the YD30 Series which was designed to meet the needs of modern access control.
Melbourne Uni visit to HQ
Melbourne University students, in partnership with a leading Australian Telco, are exploring our Detect division’s groundbreaking phase controller technology. This innovative system is opening doors to a range of new market opportunities, including exposed cable monitoring, leak detection, track monitoring, subsea cable monitoring, and enhanced event classification. The phase controller effectively transforms the cable into a highly sensitive microphone, capturing even the most subtle vibrations and disturbances. This capability has piqued the interest of major telecommunications players, highlighting its potential to revolutionise infrastructure monitoring.
Securing Sydney Metro’s T3 Banksdown Line
Ava Group’s Detect and Illuminate technologies are playing a central role in modernising and securing Sydney Metro’s T3 Bankstown Line from Sydenham to Bankstown. Rigorous testing and commissioning of twenty-five Aura Ai-X controllers is underway across 13.5km of newly deployed fences to prevent intrusions and detect objects on the track. Additionally, LoRa units are being installed to provide better visibility of the gap between trains and platforms at eight stations along the busy rail corridor. When the conversion is complete, passengers will have access to a 21st century high-tech metro line with a train every four minutes during the peak times, along with fully accessible stations and services.
Illuminate featured in SJUK
Security Journal UK recently published a story on the security benefits of combining video analytics with external detectors and illuminators. Read the interview with GJD’s Global Applications Director Gary Williams here.
